Nathan Pike (Operations Manager)
As the Operations Manager for JPS, Nathan is responsible for ensuring consistency across all aspects of the business in both development and project execution.
Nathan drives safety and schedule compliance within the company, enforcing delivery on the commitments made with our customers and partners.
Having held a diverse range of leadership roles throughout the Energy and Resource sectors in the past 13 years, Nathan has a strong understanding of the requirements for successful project set up, execution and completion. Detailed transparent planning is what Nathan instils in our project teams, ensuring full visibility on everything that we do.
Good customer relationships are Nathan’s passion, and he will pursue an integrated approach within our execution plans to work side by side with our customers and partners.
JPS prioritises the engagement of the communities in which we work. Nathan always looks to create opportunities for the local and indigenous workforce to be involved, where practicable, in projects we manage or execute.
Successfully led his team to achieve first LNG and first cargo milestones in line with the projects schedule on Chevron’s Wheatstone LNG facility.
Developed a subcontract execution strategy resulting in a cost saving of 50+ million for the contractor and ultimately the customer.
Supported the execution of the SANTOS GLNG project from early construction through to start up and practical completion
James Lynch (Senior Operations Advisor )
James brings over 24 years of demonstrated Project and LNG Operational experience to JPS, having led the safe operation of Major Hazard Facilities onshore and offshore throughout Australia..
James is an accomplished Production Operations professional with extensive experience building,developing, and leading teams in the safe operation of Major Hazard Facilities, both onshore and offshore. His skills include effective delivery of LNG Mega Project pre-operations readiness and assurance, Commissioning and Start-up, and optimisation of stable operations across greenfield and mature assets. James has over 24 years of real-world operations experience in Australia and internationally gained working in a variety of Production roles.
Effective Safety Leadership of a large multi-disciplinary team during a difficult commissioning and start up / project to asset transition phase. Achieved by listening to team member concerns and acting upon them, James took personal responsibility for building a proactive hazard and incident reporting culture and empowered team members to identify risks and apply the appropriate controls.
After 24 years plus working for major international operators in the Energy and Resource sectors,James recently took the decision to pivot his career in a new direction. By leveraging his wealth of experience in the operation of Major Hazard Facilities, James now provides valued insight and advice to ensure our teams are equipped to successfully deliver against our client’s expectations.
Jon Cover (Commercial Manager)
Jon’s 10 years’ of experience in commercial management have been pivotal in the successful development of JPS Management and Execution.
Jon has provided his expertise throughout Australia in a combination of client and contractor roles in the civil, infrastructure, commercial building, marine, oil and gas sectors across multiple project models delivering outstanding results.
Having worked across all phases of several construction projects, Jon is well positioned to ensure projects’ achieve optimum commercial outcomes and a higher degree of cost certainty whilst mitigating risk and maximising opportunities.
Joining the Wheatstone LNG project in 2015 as the Lead Subcontract Administrator, Jon rapidly advanced to Site Subcontracts Manager through his demonstrated leadership and ability to successfully navigate the project and the site contracts team through commercial issues to resolution in a timely manner.
More recently, Jon was part of the integrated project delivery team responsible for the SCM21 project, Olympic Dam. Jon joined the project for 12 months from January 2021 and successfully oversaw all commercial aspects (from procurement to closeout) of several key direct and indirect work contracts.
Key to this success has been Jon’s relationship management with both the customer and subcontractors, creating an environment of trust and openness, where the primary objective is safe and efficient project execution.
Steven Kunz (Execution Manager)
As the Execution Manager, Steven is responsible for developing JPS’s mechanical execution strategies that meet or exceed schedule requirements and project safety performance indicators.
Steven’s years of experience in the resource and energy sector has enabled him to accurately plan and estimate manning, durations and equipment requirements. Steven’s engineering and trade backgrounds have provided him with a platform from which he formulates complex technical scopes into practical execution strategies whilst mitigating potential risks and delivering on commitments with our JPS clients.
Steven was pivotal in the successful start up of critical path rotating equipment exceeding one billion dollars.
Acting in a consulting role, Steven has designed and implemented fully automated handling systems. His contributions have made companies around the world more cost efficient and sustainable for the future.
